 Allan Matthews picked up the WInter Series title last night defeating Singles League Premier Chamion, Jeff Hynds, in the final. Matthews claimed the deciding frame to clinch the £200 Cash prize on offer, Hynds collected £100 for his efforts.

The Mr Pools Winter Series returns over 9 weeks starting Saturday 18th December.
Each competition is a best of 7 frames, world rules knockout. Players are given ranking points for every round they get through. The top 16 players after the 8 events go through to the grand final.
Each events costs just £5 to enter, tables are on freeplay throughout. No prize money is paid out on each event, ...

 The Grand Final of the Summer Series 2010 takes place this Saturday evening at Mr Pools.
As there is a tie for 16th place on the leaderboard, 17 players will be invited to the Grand Final, to compete for the £410 cash prize fund.

 The new season of the Shooters League (for under 16s) starts on Monday evening (16th August) at Mr Pools. There is still time for new players to get involved.
Anyone who wants to enter and hasn't done so already needs to get there at 7pm to complete entry forms before the 7.30pm start.

The Mr Pools Summer Series returns over 9 Saturdays starting this Saturday - 26th June. There is a slightly different format this year which should make things a bit more exciting and give more chance for people to get into the Final on 21st August, as well as keeping things very simple.

We want to get things underway with the next season of the Shooters League, but are still a couple of players short. The competition takes place very Wednesday evening. Players don't have to attend every week.
If you know of any players aged under 16 who would like to get involved then please get in touch.
It's a great value event and gives young players their first taste of competitive pool.

 Entry forms for the World 8 Ball Championship qualifier on 15th May are now available at the club.
The winner gets entry into the World Finals at Blackpool along with 3 nights accommodation at the Imperial Hotel.
Entry costs just £20. The competition starts at 6pm.
Limited places are available, and allocated on a first come first served basis.

 Shaun Storry became the first Winter Series champion last night, beating Ed Mercer 7-3 in the Grand Final played at Mr Pools.
Storry picked up the £550 first prize after a gruelling days pool, coming through against Chris Cass, Barry Rudlin & Glen Sibbons.
Mercer collected £270 beating Jeff Hynds, Kev Smith and Adrian Hogg on his journey to the final.

Highlights include the re-instatement of the Essex Open, and the introduction of an Essex Closed event in April.

The Shooters League for players aged under 16 is set to kick off on Wednesday 14th October, with 9 players signed up in advance. The league is played every Wednesday evening 7.30pm-10pm at Mr Pools, and players compete for prizes and vouchers worth £775.

 Jeff Hynds claimed the Mr Pools Summer Series title last night, emerging victorious from the field of qualifiers in the Grand Final.
Jeff only dropped 5 frames in three rounds as he stormed to collect the £140 first prize. Along the way he defeated James Hazelton, Shaun Storry and, in the final, Steve Dowdell.
