| Grand Final Draw |

The draw for the Grand Final of the Mr Pools Summer Series has been done in advance of next week's event.
As usual the competition starts at 7.30pm. Four matches will go on first, but all players need to be present in case someone doesn't turn up.
Total prize fund is £400 (We have added another £5!) Winner will get £160.

| Cook takes final place |

Steve Cook won the last qualifier event of the Mr Pools Summer Series, beating Mark Pegram in the final by 4 frames to 3.
It was win-win for Cook, had Pegram won the match then Steve would have qualifed as a one of the top four non-qualified players on the ranking list and made it through anyway.
Eight players took part in the last event adding £15 to the prize fund making a total of £395... |

| Dowsett enjoys 8 1/2 success |

Wayne Dowsett won 8 1/2 Ball 4 at Mr Pools tonight beating Matt Cooledge by 4 frames to 3 in the final.
Rico Gopaul bowed out in the semi finals to Dowsett despite potting an exceptional early black, Steve Forrest lost out to Cooledge.
Dowsett picked up £125 for his efforts, runner up Cooledge £75. |

| Chris Cass checks in |

Chris Cass qualified on his 6th attempt for the final of the Mr Pools Summer Series. Cass defeated John Cousins in the final of the qualifier by four frames to two.
Ten players made up the penultimate field adding another £25 to the prize fund taking the total to £380 fior the Grand Final on 1st September.
Players only have one more chance to qualify, next Monday 25th August.

| Disher out already! |

I am not sure how we have done it, but the latest copy of 'The Disher' went in the post yesterday so it should be arriving with Singles League players today.
We are feeling pretty smug about performing a three day turnaround, but there is a hint of trepidation as it may still be full of mistakes we haven't spotted. Because the fixtures hacve made the post early, we have updated... |

| Football Season kicks off |

Throughout the coming football season we will be showing Premier League and Championship matches on the newly installed big screen at the club.
The first matches are this weekend: On Saturday Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion (12.45pm) in the Premier League followed by Bristol City v Derby County (5.20pm) in the Championship.
On Sunday at 1.30pm - Chelsea v Portsmouth followed by Manchester United v Newcastle ... |
